I don't think our running game will be lacking if we are passing 20 to 30 times a game and completing 60% of them.

If was the key word or other ingredients that contribute to the game of football.
Point is, passing the ball is not the only answer to the puzzle.

I nor anyone else couldn't sit here and say that passing the ball more would get us over the hump. However i feel very confident in saying we will not get over that hump with the number of passing attempts and completions we have seen in the past.
we were way ahead of everyone in the late 80s and 90s with our running game and that brought us 5 rings. We got comfortable with what we had and now we are playing catch up after others have become more advanced than us.

I love how you guys can sit there and still complain about a "hump" and being "unsuccessful" and still put up 12-14 wins a season. Guys like you do not deserve to be a part of the tradition that is Raider football. After we get done with you this year, you'll realize what you had.

there is a difference between wanting to and striving to be the very best and getting beat 15 times in a row by your biggest rival.
I wouldn't expect you to understand.

Yes, but despite being beat 15 tmies in a row by our biggest rival, I remain completely loyal to the Scots. Judging by your posts, loyalty is not something I would expect you to understand.

because i want a more balanced attack i am not loyal? funny, i guess. But General Kuster's men were loyal as well or was it stupid? So now that you bring it up i can see how you could getloyalty and stupidity mixed up being a scotland fan.
Are you old enough to remember when the scots last beat Richmond?

I remember, McClendon took a sweep 80 yards the first play of the game, Deese took the second half kick off back for a TD...... I was at that game!!! And I'm a Raider fan!!!

Back to the original topic. Based on the first game, how do you think Coach Hoggard is doing?

Lets talk about this half way into the season, one game is not going to tell us how he is going...... He needs more than one game under his belt before we can tell......

I agree, but people were already deciding that before even the first game was played.

being a former player of Coach Hoggard. I'm telling you, He is A great guy, and A Great Coach. You guys might not know it or not.. but he has probably the most well Coached Offensive Line in the state. Trust me i know. What he teaches the young men , are the fundamentals of the game. Technique technique technique technique. and he's also a very repetitious Coach. Trust me. Anyone he coaches will be coached up .. and one thing that you don't know .. and that he knows.. is his PERSONNEL! it doesn't make any since to line up in quins and 5 wide the whole game and you don't have the Personell to do so.And just because a guy is big and can catch still doesn't mean he can play lol... YOu got to be able to run those routes.
Also.....
He knows Raider football, he's passionate about the game. Richmond has always been a running team. If we were passing the ball when Norman Or marcus Rush was in the backfield, or even Michael Waddell and Ellerbe And Green. You guys would be moaning and Groaning now. Coach Hog has Earned the right to run this team however he Sees fit. And judging with what he has to work with. I think He did a pretty d**n good job over the years. I remember the the 2001 team that went to LAney and lost. Probably the first team in years that had A Pretty good offensive line, but for some reason, Richmond was lacking in the Running back position. Marcus Rush was hurt, so what did Coach Hog do. he made adjustments, he used what he had. He Used Morman, Everyone knew Morman was getting the ball, but who really stopped it? NO oNe Until he got hurt. Trust me. Hog is a Very knowledgeable man. Give him the Chance. He's Been faithful to the program. Everyone has left.. and he's still here. One thing he has always told me..
"Play the Game LIke its suppose to be Played"
