(Richmond needs a new playbook)
3rd down and 10, a draw play is coming 6 out of 10 times. That's been the call for at least 15 years?!?!?!

Wait a second before this post gets out of hand. I agree the coaching system and playbook is broken at Richmond. I still believe the talent has always been there and that certain coaches or really coach Barnes was able to channel the talent in the right direction to benefit the type of play calling that is tradion at Richmond. Yes, the championship teams had game breakers and several of big time p lay makers but every year the talent is there. Yeah, the trend of the offensive line has gotten smaller, inconsistent, and less effective. However, maybe the problem is not enough emphasis is being placed on how important the role is and maybe not as many players are growing up in football that want to be offensive linemen. Its a very important role, however it don't get the hype and glory. Football is a team support and everyone has to work together especially on the offensive line. The movements have to be smooth but effective. I really don't know the answer but I wish that the talent could be channeled so Richmond can reach that excellence in football again. All in all the Raiders have proven that over the years that they can compete and play football. Also, the air attack needs to be evolved so they are not just a running offense. Good luck Raiders and keep up the good work.

Some of you talking about us not passing etc act like you haven't been to a Raider game recently. Richmond has been relying on the pass most of the season now.
I don't have the stats in front of me right now but the last few games Richmond has thrown 30+ times a game. You still have to mix in the run to keep the defense honest and to open up the passing lanes.

I don't think it's a pipe dream. If this team doesn't make mistakes, they'd be undefeated right now. I think this group has a lot of potential.

Good positive thoughts and a good attitude carries you along way. Anything is possible and its a clean slate. If you win you move on to the next round. Play smart and with you heart then the win will follow. The record doesn't mean anything accept if you are home or away. Remember the raider tradition continues each year. Its just the Raiders have always had a lot of pressure to win each and every year. The talent lives through the next generation of players. Richmond County is a football factory and can compete against any team in NC as long as the talent is channeled in the right direction. I think the players deserve to play their best without being handcuffed and playing to their full potential as great football players. If the players play their best then they deserve to have the best coaches give them the best plays and chances to play their best. In other words play to win not to lose. Go Raiders!!! Play your best like you have all season.
