Crazy ball game! Raiders win it. The atmosphere reminds me of an old joke. I'll just change the wording a little... I went to a fight and a baseball game broke out.

I agree, their fans were the worst. It was a great game though. i think it was the first time i ever lost my voice at a baseball game.

I couldn't agree with you more. From the start, they acted like they were supposed to win, and made it known to everyone. I couldn't get over how they'd shout out things to our players and then when we'd respond, they call us rude. On lady said we were worse than the Ashley fans, which I'm sure wasn't a compliment. When their star pitcher came in the game, it got worse. Their fans heckled us and told us that it was over now that he was in the game. At the very least he broke even. Only the second batter he faced, he gave up a 2-RBI single. Later, he did hit a 2 run homer, so he gave up 2 and scored 2. However, his pitching was everywhere. I hope he is usually much better than that or ECU is wasting their money. It was not a shock that those doing the heckling got heckled back after the game. I feel bad for their players and wish them well, but I hope thier fans suffered that loss all the way back to Wilmington. They were horrible.

they kept bickering and complaining when we would just cheer for our players. I heard won fan yell way to go GG to Grayson Goodman and one of their fans called him rude. rude for what??? they guy I was sitting with shouted you can hit that ball C.A. to Corey Ayers and that same NH fan turned around and said we'll see about that.

I feel bad for their players and wish them well, but I hope thier fans suffered that loss all the way back to Wilmington. They were horrible. From what I observed, it was mostly the mothers. There were a few New Hanover fans sitting dead center on the bottom row. They seemed to have something to say to just about everybody. When their second pitcher... Mincey?? ... came up to bat those ladies really started dishing it out. He got a strikeout and they went nuts. One girl from NH looked at one of those NH ladies and said they're just jealous. Then one of those ladies stood up and yelled to him, "there's nobody better out there" like three times. Like hudson said, that's when Lee Webb got the 2RBI single. A couple of guys towards the front of the stands and a few kids to my left started shouting, "Way to go Lee, there's nobody better out there!" Then an elderly guy in front of me looked down towards the NH girl and said, "I'm not jealous." Now I'm not saying I agree with the way they responded, but they continuously dished out crap for the first four innings, so I can't really say they didn't deserve it. Just to let you know, I was towards the top in another set of bleachers all together, so just the fact that I could hear what they were saying tells me that they wanted the Richmond fans to hear them say it.

Kount, I read your post on NCPreps. I was up on the hill when that happened. That woman was one of the ones that gave our fans fits the whole game, so don't feel bad about responding to her. I saw her start yelling at you from the stairs. It was completely unwarranted and unprovoked. That kid was just a sore loser. He was all talk and continued mumbling after you all walked away. That wasn't the actions of a protective child, it was the actions of a very sore loser who was trying to act big when he was down. After you left, a bunch of the kids on the hill were acting like Forrest Gump and saying, "don't be talkin about my mama."
